On the 7th January 2021, the Isle of Man went back into lockdown due to COVID-19. Naturally, this was disappointing for the population, as we had been lucky enough to not have any community COVID cases for months.
At Billboards we wondered what we could do to brighten up this time? And then we had an idea… We could give the children of the Isle of Man the opportunity to have their artwork displayed on our digital screens!
By asking the island’s little ones aged 12 and under to create a poster depicting the message ‘Stay At Home’ we recognized that we could give them a fun activity to keep them occupied, give them the opportunity to showcase their work via digital out of home advertising screens, and most importantly spread the message to STAY AT HOME!
The competition was launched on the 7th January, in timing with the beginning of the lockdown, and we were immediately overwhelmed by the amount of children who wanted to be involved, and the level of their skill and creativity!
It was a tough choice to pick a winner, resulting in us choosing two posters to be featured on our Sea Terminal digital screens, created by Aemilia Gaskell and Connie Graham.
The winners will have their wonderful artwork displayed until the end of the 21 day lockdown, and when in keeping with restrictions they will be awarded their winning posters which will be specially framed by the team at Billboards!
Thank you to all of the talented children who took part, we can’t wait to run more competitions like this in the future and give even more youngsters the chance to see their artwork blown up for the masses!
